Two easy itineraries which may be travelled on foot and which allow you to observe a large number of species.
From the Romea state road you enter the woods following Via Fossatone and you park your car in the Ca’ Vecia parking lot.
From here you take the trail on the left and cross the pinewood, where you can hear and observe a great number of species, such as the melodious warbler, Sardinian warbler, cirl bunting. The itinerary ends in the humid area, where one may continue with the next itinerary.
The itinerary winds along the shores of the banks which line the pialassa, through briny swamps close to the woods (area where the water is sweeter) and the lagoon connected to the sea, which is saltier. On the hillocks which rise out of the water one may observe colonies of mediterranean gull, common tern, pied avocet, black-winged stilt, pied avocet. In the area with sweeter water there is a colony of mute swans and one may observe black terns and whiskered tern.
